![]() It's not a bass you can't control.like STS9's show at Bonnaroo 03, but it's very very clean. It's the smoothest bass i've heard on a show. The BASS.that is how you spell it right everyone.THE BASS is so dub-like it's crazy. Anyone who gives this less than 4 or 5 stars shouldn't have the prevledge of listening to their music. But this show is sooooooooo full of depth and feeling. It was the first show I got and doesn't even come close to others SP recordings. This show is what put them on the map in my head. It's got a hint of crazy house and dub with a mellow melodic overtone. This is by far one of the most chillest Sets SP has played. Thanks to c.Grider for the transfer to the Archive!! Thanks to Mike Levin for capturing the SBD, crucal A five piece band concentrating the same 1,2,3,4,1,2,3,4 pace as the New Deal from Canada and much work being done here in Americaunderground. The expressions of STS9 have crystalized into different forms than Signal Path, Lotus or even LTJ Bukem, Big Bud, Cedar and Seba more DJ record and electronic producing. ![]() I've seen 24 STS9 shows dating back to 2000, and attended many musical gatherings all over the world. The accountability which lables carry today are not worth the physical and psychlogical baggage. To end I want to comment that I don't think one can classify acts and players to the "Jamband" scene which is concieved within the same market place as bubble-gum pop and alternative sad-basterd types. Pusher, lens flare and Aarons Cube are all stylistically similar to some Soulful drum & Bass and progressive music coming from Europe right now. In fact I feel the playing is overly ambishous and tight on these two disks. I've checked out a few 2004 SP shows (before and after this show), but they all lack the sound quality and showmanship during this Asheville night. ![]()
